Just the Truth
by Gen LaGreca

Drama/murder mystery
Running time: 2 hours
Characters: 10 males, 7 females, 5-6 extras
With doubling: 8 males, 6 females

Synopsis

Laura Taninger, host of the prime-time news show on her family-owned TV network, discovers suspicious activity that might just manipulate voting in President Ken Martin’s upcoming bid for reelection. When Laura’s source within the administration—who is about to reveal urgent information to her—is suddenly murdered, she investigates. Facing the crushing retaliation of the Martin administration against her family’s businesses, a smear campaign to destroy her reputation, and the intense pressure of her father and siblings to give up her investigation, Laura is determined to pursue the truth wherever it leads.

Major themes include multiple threats to a free press in an era of growing abuse of power, integrity, compromise, and the pursuit of truth in journalism.

Containing no references or intentional allusions to any actual persons, political parties, or events, Just the Truth resonates with everyone concerned about protecting our foundational freedoms.
